Devotional Thought

​

This world is a restless place without true satisfaction. While activities and pursuits can bring a sense of achievement and fulfilment for a time, there is a deep longing within for more.

​

Unfortunately, some turn to alcohol, drugs and other addictions to dull the pain or to escape reality temporarily, but this behaviour often turns into a downward spiral of destruction. 

​

The Lord can see this disquiet in the human soul and offers His rest to us when we come to Him.

Only in Him can we be truly fulfilled because He is the Prince of Peace. His presence causes us to cease striving and simply to rest in His love.

​

God cannot give us a happiness and peace apart from Himself, because it is not there. There is no such thing.
